This year I will be participating in the 16th annual FL Fuller Landau Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race to raise awareness and much needed funds for CanSupport, which provides free supportive care to cancer patients and their families at the Cedars Centre of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
Those of you who know me will know that I myself was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and received unwavering support from not only my medical team, but also from the related teams who look after our physical and mental health, right down to the cute beanie to cover our head (yes, you do end up feeling all the draughts), to the blanket to make chemo treatments more comfortable, to the follow-up phone calls, to the gym routines to regain mobility in my arms (critical for tennis - thank you very much), and so on...
As you know, the current pandemic has pushed back the timetable for intervention, WHILE CANCER DOES NOT TAKE A BREAK! Cancer patients and their families are still facing daily challenges and we need to support them in this important time.
Please encourage me by supporting my team! Let's make sure the 2021 Dragon Boat Race has a lasting positive impact.
Thank you for reading and for your generosity.

P.S. My dad did not have this chance - he died of prostate cancer several years ago. I will participate in the dragon boat race in his memory.
