This year, I will be taking part in the 15th Annual FL Fuller Landau Cedars Dragon Boat Virtual Challenge to help raise awareness and much needed funds for CanSupport, who provide free, supportive care to cancer patients and their families at the Cedars Cancer Centre of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
As you are aware, the current pandemic has pushed schedules back. FL Fuller Landau is the leading sponsor and they continue to support their efforts. We cannot take a pause in cancer care. Cancer patients and their families are still facing challenges every day and we need to support them through this important time.
For my personal commitment to our Cedars CanSupport team, the Dragon Boat Slayers, and as a Volunteer, I’m going to challenge myself to walk from my home on Rockland Road all the way downtown to Ogilvy Department Store on St. Catherine Street. I’m going to walk 7.2 km each way, for a total of 14 km.
I’m walking for everyone who is dealing with cancer (the sufferers and their loved ones and caregivers). I’m walking for my beautiful Mother who was a courageous survivor and a mighty fighter. I’m walking to raise money for Cedars CanSupport whose mission is to be there for anyone and everyone and whose role is to help one person at a time with the dedicated and passionate ideology of the Cedars CanSupport team.
Be assured that your kind generosity makes all the difference, so please Cheer us on by supporting the Dragon Boat Slayers! Let’s make the Dragon Virtual Challenge a lasting positive impact. We may not be able to share the impact in person this year but coming together online with friends and family can show that we are still a united community.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and generosity.
