Some people close to me know the impact Cancer has had on my family over the past couple of years. In this short time it has taken my father in law Richard, my mother Colleen and a close friend of my Brother's Kevin. My mom and my father law both under the age of 55 and Kevin barely 30 years old, all them much too young. I met Kevin at this race when I first partiipated in this event in 2016, joining his team ''The Dusty Paddles''. It was a great experience and the event raised a substantial amount of money for the Cedars Cancer Center. The Cedar Center gave our family enormous support throughout my mom's battle against cancer. They are a great organization that cannot exist without the funding form these events. Any small donations help and we would love to see any of you out there on the weekend of the event, the details are below.
On September 9th, 2017 I will take part in the 12th Annual Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race & Festival in order to help raise awareness and much needed funds for cancer patients and their families at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC).
I along with my team and will be training this summer to improve their techniques, synchronization, power strokes, and overall dragon boating team technique so that we will be victorious on Race Day in both their racing and fundraising efforts.
All monies raised go directly to Cedars CanSupport, a division of the Cedars Cancer Foundation which aims to aid patients and there families who are currently undergoing cancer treatment. Cedars CanSupport provides free psychological, emotional, practical and financial support to cancer patients and their families being treated at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC).
We hope you will help to support us and cheer us on at the beautiful Promenade Pére Marquette in Lachine on Saturday, September 9th.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and generosity.
