On September 8th, 2018 my family and I are participating in the 13th Annual Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race & Festival in order to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for cancer patients and their families at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC).
All monies raised go directly to Cedars CanSupport, a division of the Cedars Cancer Foundation which aims to aid patients and their families who are currently undergoing cancer treatment. Cedars CanSupport provides free psychological, emotional, practical and financial support to cancer patients and their families being treated at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC).
I can personally attest to how vital these services are; this time five years ago, my dad (our team captain) was undergoing cancer treatment and greatly benefitted from CanSupport's services. I'm racing with The Bell Fund team, which is another amazing organisation that supports cancer patients. We've all been touched by this disease in one way or another, and services like those offered by CanSupport have a huge impact on patients and their loved ones. If you have the means, any donations would be greatly appreciated!
We are also selling raffle tickets and hats with our team motto "Shit Happens" written on them!
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and generosity!
