Paddling For My Buddy Kevin Butterfill
Last year I had the pleasure of participating in the Dragon Boat Race with a bunch of great friends and support of family. It was an honor and a privilege to be a part of the event. My best friend Kevin Butterfill entered us into the event as the "Dusty Paddles", and participated on the boat with us. I was very proud to be by his side and support a cause that had affected his life on such a deep level. We also won best team name because of his witty thought. With a lot of hard work and team effort we managed to finish in second place!
Kevin was sadly struck with leukemia not long after, and on April 20th, I lost my best friend. I cannot describe what it is like to lose such an important person in my life. Someone I grew up, someone I trusted and someone who always put a smile on my face. I miss him like crazy.
I am continuing to participate in this event for not only Kevin, but also the current families, friends and loved ones that are affected with cancer and to help the ones to be diagnosed in the future.
I am kindly asking for a small donation to help the Dusty Paddles reach their goal and support this important cause. The Cedar's CanSupport is a great organization that needs your help. My promise to you is to paddle my butt off and continue to help raise money for the cause.
