Welcome to Alison Smiley's Personal Page
On September 9th, 2017 , our team will once again take part in the Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race & Festival in order to help raise awareness and much needed funds for cancer patients and their families at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC).
Our team will have two training sessions this summer to improve our technique, synchronization, power strokes, and overall dragon boating as we continue to fundraise for a great cause.
Our team has kept our aptly named Randy's Rowers, to honour my husband, Randy Brown. He was an inspiration to many as he battled various cancers since 2010 while continuously maintaining a positive attitude. Randy lost his battle on September 23rd, 2015. He would have loved to have been out on the boat rowing with our family as he had done in the past. We thus continue to paddle in his honour.
All monies raised go directly to Cedars CanSupport, a division of the Cedars Cancer Institute which aims to aid patients and their families who are currently undergoing cancer treatment. Cedars CanSupport provides free psychological, emotional, practical and financial support to cancer patients and their families being treated at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC). You can learn more about this great cause on the home page.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and generosity.
